Inspired Artist
The Artist I chose was Peregrine Church. He calls his art Rainwork. It only appears when it's wet. His art is in Washington, Oregon, Minnesota, Illinois, Louisiana, Indiana, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, and more. He got the idea from seeing stuff on Superhydrophobic Surfaces, so he decided to make a spray based off that. So it doesn't get wet, but it only appears when it's wet. It took him a while to find a spray that was completely invisible when not wet. He tested different sprays for about six months till he found the right one. Then he used stencils to create the art. His purpose is to "turn rainy days into something to look forward to."
This inspires me because I love how it's positive. It makes a rainy day better in a creative, fun way. I love how it only appears on a rainy day. And it's cool and something to look forward to. Usually rainy days are always looked down upon, but Rainwork can change that. It can also leave positive messages to brighten people's day. I also like how he used superhydrophobic coatings (basically a spray-on sealant that repels water) because he took something he found and made it into something beautiful.

The warm-up of the pen cubes helped me most. It taught me the different pen techniques, and I was able to work on shading with pen.
Composition- the placement or arrangement of visual elements or ingredients in a work of art, as distinct from the subject of a work. It can also be thought of as the organization of the elements of art according to the principles of art.
Value- Element of design that defines the light and darks in an artwork.
